Important Dates

Final Submission Deadlines

On these dates, all finished theses and dissertations, plus all necessary paperwork, must be turned in to the UDTS Office by 5:00 p.m. in order for the student to qualify for graduation in that semester. Upcoming Final Submission deadlines are as follows:

 

Spring 2014: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014

 

Summer 2014: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE SUMMER 2014 SUBMISSION DEADLINE: UDTS Coordinator Sally Evans will not be in the office on August 1, due to a prior commitment. It is strongly recommended that you turn your document in to our office on or by Thursday, July 31. Please contact us with any questions.

 

Fall 2014: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014

 

Arlington Campus Hours

We're trying out a new program during the Spring 2014 semester.

In addition to our regular hours at the Fairfax campus, in C-203 Fenwick Library (Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), we're going to offer hours at the Arlington campus on the second Tuesday of the month, from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m. Specific dates are as follows:

On those days, we'll be in the Arlington Campus Library, located in Founders Hall, in room 349. We're available for information sessions, Submission Consultations, and Final Submission appointments.

Format Review Deadline

All theses and dissertations must be submitted to UDTS for a Format Review by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014. In order for you to graduate in the Spring 2014 semester, we must receive your document for review by 5:00 p.m. on April 25th. If we do not receive your document for review by that date, we will not be able to review it in time for you to fulfill all other requirements in order to graduate in Spring 2014.

Any document received after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 for a Format Review will not be reviewed until Tuesday, May 6 at the very earliest.

 

Workshops

University Dissertation & Thesis Services (UDTS), the Division of Instructional Technology (DoIT), and University Libraries are pleased to offer our Three-Part Workshops during the Spring 2014 semester. Each session consists of the following components:

Process: UDTS Coordinator Sally Evans will walk you through the procedures you must complete in order to graduate on time.

Template: A member of DoIT will introduce you to our Interactive Template, and will explain how you can use it in order to make your formatting easier.

Zotero: A member of University Libraries will give an overview of the free citation management system Zotero.

You can sign up for each component individually.
