Important Dates

Final Submission Deadlines

On these dates, all finished theses and dissertations, plus all necessary paperwork, must be turned in to the UDTS Office by 5:00 p.m. in order for the student to qualify for graduation in that semester. Upcoming Final Submission deadlines are as follows:

 

Fall 2014: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014

 

Spring 2015: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015

 

 

Fall 2014 Workshops

In conjunction with University Libraries and the Division of Instructional Technology, we will also be offering some of our Three-Part Workshops this Fall. You can sign up for the individual segments, and you can sign up for as many segments as you wish.

Thursday, October 9
Fairfax Campus: Johnson Center, Room 311B
9:00 a.m.
UDTS Coordinator Sally R. Evans will walk you through the process you must complete in order to format, complete, and submit your thesis or dissertation in time for graduation.

9:45 a.m.
Christopher Magee, a member of University Libraries, will offer a brief introduction to Zotero, a reference-management tool developed here at Mason. Zotero will help you collect, arrange, and implement your citations.

10:30 a.m.
A member of DoIT will introduce you to our Interactive Template and walk you through its use; it can be found here: http://thesis.gmu.edu/templates.html. You are not required to use the Interactive Template, but many of our students have found it incredibly useful and convenient when it comes time to format their documents according to University Guidelines.

Monday, October 20

Arlington & Prince William Campus Hours

In addition to our regular hours at the Fairfax campus, in C-203 Fenwick Library (Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), we're going to offer hours at the Arlington campus on the second Tuesday of each month, and on the Prince William campus on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

When we're on the Arlington campus, we'll be in the Arlington Campus Library, located in Founders Hall, in room 349.

When we're on the Prince William campus, we'll be in Mercer Library, at the front desk.

At either/both campuses, we're available to meet with you for information sessions, Submission Consultations, and Final Submission appointments.

Prince William

November 25, from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m.

 

Format Review Deadline

All theses and dissertations must be submitted to UDTS for a Format Review by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014. In order for you to graduate in the Fall 2014 semester, we must receive your document for review by 5:00 p.m. on November 28th. If we do not receive your document for review by that date, we will not be able to review it in time for you to fulfill all other requirements in order to graduate in Fall 2014.

Any document received after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 for a Format Review will not be reviewed until Tuesday, December 9th at the very earliest.
