Beginning Fall 2007, students completing a MASTERS THESIS/PROJECT or DOCTORAL DISSERTATION have two choices for final submission:

Traditional Submission

or

etd @ Mason


George Mason University has incorporated a new policy for Dissertation and Thesis submission. In addition to the traditional multiple-paper copy method of submission, students now have the option of participating in the etd @ Mason program by submitting a single paper copy and an electronic copy (in portable document format -.pdf) instead of multiple cotton copies.

Here is how the two options compare:

*PHD students participating in the etd @ Mason program are not required to participate in the UMI/ProQuest Open Access publishing option. The two are in no way related. Students are free to do electronic submission through George Mason University and Tradtional Publishing through UMI/ProQuest.
