Beginning Fall 2007, students
completing a MASTERS THESIS/PROJECT or DOCTORAL DISSERTATION have two
choices for final submission: Traditional Submission or George Mason University has
incorporated a new policy for Dissertation and Thesis submission. In addition
to the traditional multiple-paper copy method of submission, students
now have the option of participating in the etd
@ Mason program by submitting a single paper copy and an electronic
copy (in portable document format -.pdf) instead of multiple cotton copies. Here is how the two options
compare:

Traditional
Electronic
(etd @ Mason)
| *PHD students participating in the etd @ Mason program are not required to participate in the UMI/ProQuest Open Access publishing option. The two are in no way related. Students are free to do electronic submission through George Mason University and Tradtional Publishing through UMI/ProQuest. |
| **See the Dissertation and Thesis Coordinator for more information regarding the publishing fee for PQIL. |
