George Mason University Libraries

Welcome to University Dissertation & Thesis Services!

The path toward achieving your Master's degree or PhD can be a long and arduous one. It can be complicated, stressful, and frustrating.

But that's why UDTS is here.

We exist to help Mason graduate students prepare, format, and complete their theses, dissertations, and projects, and to turn them in CORRECTLY and ON TIME.

We'll help walk you through the process; we'll review your document to make sure the formatting is correct; we'll make sure you have all of the tools you need; and we'll answer any questions you have. Our goal is to make this time as stress-free as possible for you.

We're also here to assist GMU faculty and staff in need of information and/or assistance regarding the preparation and submission of dissertations, theses, and projects.

The official Final Submission deadline for Summer 2014 is Friday, August 1, 2014.

However, due to a prior commitment, UDTS Coordinator Sally Evans has to be out of the office all day Friday, August 1. The UDTS office will be closed on August 1, and there will be no one available to accept Final Submissions of theses and dissertations, or to process these submissions.

We cannot stress enough how important it is for you to turn in Final Submissions of theses and dissertations, and all necessary paperwork, to our office on or by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. Please do everything within your power to turn in the final copy of your document and all of your paperwork on or by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31.

The Summer 2014 Format Review Deadline Is as Follows:

All theses and dissertations must be submitted to UDTS for a Format Review by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014. In order for you to graduate in the Summer 2014 semester, we must receive your document for review by 5:00 p.m. on July 25th. If we do not receive your document for review by that date, we will not be able to review it in time for you to fulfill all other requirements in order to graduate in Summer 2014.

Any document received after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 for a Format Review will not be reviewed until Tuesday, July 5 at the very earliest.
